I designed the inner border first using three quarter inch honeycomb shapes. Eight honeycombs were cut from each of the six challenge fabrics.
I created a larger scale central pattern to contrast with the smaller border pieces. Perle coton was used to outline, embroider, and quilt the middle appliques.
